What do I need to sign up for football?
You need a parent or guardian present along with a birth certificate and a
physical before conditioning starts (Monday July 27, 2009 at 5:30 pm.)
Where are home games played?
Home Games are generally played at Analy High School. In the event of a schedule
conflict we will play at ElMolino
How far do we have to travel for away games?
We can go as far as Ukiah and Dixon
When do practices start, how many days a week?
Last week in JULY, Monday thru Friday
Do I as a parent have to volunteer and why do I have to volunteer?
Yes, it takes approx 60 parents to run a home game on Sunday and it teaches our
children that adults also work together building teamwork, and you have fun too.
What football gear is supplied by the team?
The league supplies Helmet, shoulder pads, home jersey, away jersey, practice
and game pants, and one set of pads.
Can we wear our jerseys to school?
The kids can wear their home Jerseys to school. We encourage the kids to wear
their jerseys on Fridays to show team spirit.
Can we practice in our game jerseys?
No, the kids can not practice in their game jerseys or game pants. Their will be
consequences if they wear game uniform items to practice.
Where can we buy practice jerseys and gear bags?
Practice Jerseys can be purchased at T & B sports on Steel Lane.
Do we get a discount at any sports stores?
Not at this time.
What color jersey is for home games?
Home game Jerseys are blue.
Can players wear helmet visors?
Yes
Do players need to wear athletic cups?
Not a required part of gear, but a recommended part of gear.
Does the players mouthpiece have to be blue?
No, a players mouth piece does not have to be Blue, but it can not be red or
clear
Why do the players need to be at the field 2 hours before a game?
This may be changing to 1 1/2 hours before game time. Players must arrive early
for weigh in and certification before each game.
Can a game or practice be canceled due to weather?
Practice is not canceled due to weather hot to cold! If practice is not called
off by the coach or board and a player chooses not to come due to weather (hot
or cold), the player will be benched for a portion of the next game. Coaches are
aware of the limits of players especially during the hot summer months and will
adjust their practice accordingly.
Can parents be on the sidelines during a game?
No No No! this rule will be strictly enforced for the 2009 season by coaches and
board members. It not only distracting to your child, but it is distracting to
the coaches, and referees as well. If you want to be on the field during a game
volunteer to do PAR or chains.
Can parents or guardians help at practice?
Yes Yes Yes. Please check with your head coach first! Do not just step onto a
practice field without asking the head coach first.
What does it mean when a game goes to scrimmage?
A game goes to scrimmage when on team is ahead by 28 points or more. If the
losing team scores after a game goes into scrimmage, it does not take the game
out of scrimmage.
Can a player wear gloves during a game?
Yes
Can players play offense and defense?
Only at the Jr. Pee Wee level and above. Mighty Mites have additional rules,
that do not allow a player to ply offense and defense in the same game.
Can girls play on football team?
Yes, girls can play for West County Tigers
Do players and parents have to pay at the gate before a game? Only parents must pay.
Children under 16 are free.
Cheer Questions
General Questions
How can I volunteer?
You can contact our team parent coordinator (TBA) or our concessions chair person to volunteer. We need all the help we can get. It takes about 35 parent volunteers per day, plus our board members to help run a home game. Without the parents help we will not be able to offer concession or apparel sales at our home events.
How long is the season?
The regular season start July 27th and runs through October. Their will be play offs and special events in the month of November.
Can I apply for a scholarship?
The league has limited scholarships. We ask that all families pay a minimum of
$85.00, and work off their balance due at home games. The hours needed to work
off their dues would be 16 hours. This would be approx 2 hours of volunteer work
and each home event. Parents that pay the full amount in dues would still be
asked to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours per season.
Can a family sell raffle tickets to pay for the player or cheerleaders dues?
Yes, this option will be made available to all football players and cheerleaders
upon request.
Can parents or guardians attend a board meeting?
All board meetings are open to anyone. All board meeting dates will be posted on
our web site. At this time our regular board meetings will be held the first
Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm. We will post the location, the agenda and
any changes on our web site. Please contact our president or athletic director
if there is a special issue you would like to discuss at a board meeting or have
added to the agenda prior to the meeting date.
